im slightly confused when you say you've lost your immobilizer... the immobilizer is in the car

the chip in the key turns the immobilizer off.

in rare occasions the chip in the key "may" forget its code. you'll need to head to a dealer to sort this out, or a specialist

Help please!!!

Hi,

I have a 02 Ibiza, magic car, absolutly luv it, but recently been having trouble with starting it. The immobilizer cuts off the engine and all i can do is keep turing the key till it starts, could be a couple of times, could be half an hour!

I spoke to a dealer and they said there was nothing they could do, is there any way the immobilizer can be swiched off? The problem seems to be getting worse :help:

Thanks,

Roanna

Sorry, just noticed this is for Leon inquiries, sorry!

Roanna, I don't know of a way to turn the immobiliser off, but your dealer has fobbed you off, they should have used their diagnostic equipment to locate the problem. I'd have looked at the immobiliser reading coil, fitted around the ignition lock, at first.

Do you have two keys, and if so do they both have the same problem? This would tell you if it's a car or a key problem.

Are you sure it's the immobiliser?

Leon7284, what exactly have you lost???
