Dear All,

Well Finaly took my car to SMC Seat in Windsor and they found a fault with the Low Speed setting on both the two Electric Fans, they have requested that both be changed.

This is where it get interesting. Well I purchased the car new from North East Garages in Newcastle in 12/02 with an extra 3 years Seat Warrenty in addition to the brand new 3 year one.

Well the extra Seat Warrenty would cover years 2005-2008 and the warrenty sold was a Seat Dealer Approved Used Car Programme run by Principal Services Limited (Administrators).

Well SMC Seat put a claim last week but it seems that the current Seat Used Car warrenty is run by a different firm and they had to ring Seat Warrenty Department who then contacted the administrators of the warrenty.

Well I rang my dealer SMC Seat after a week and they have heard nothing. I am not to brothered that the service team could'nt quite help as the person dealing with my case is away and it seems that this person is the only one that does any work at that dealership.

I then contacted Seat who would'nt give me the number to contact Seat Warrenty and said that I should contact my dealership. Plus the number in the Warrenty book can not be reached.

I am now playing the waiting game with Seat being uphelpfull and my Dealer waiting from Seat UK. My FTO never had this many faults amd customer service was better.

Well, here is the update, had to do all the work myself becasue the dealer was very unhelpfull thanks Lee from SMC Seat!!

Anyway finally contacted the warrenty firm who is Seat Warrenty but called also Modial Assist. A nice guy called Andy said that the dealership SMC Seat in Windsor had not faxed the infromation but this could off been a fault with their fax machine.

anyway the next day I spoke to Andy and it seems that he received the fax but he could not read it. He then contacted the dealer to get it resent but the overrall impressation was that (thanks Lee again) was that they did not sell the car in the first place and that they really could not be brothered. This information came from Andy as the SMC Seat did not tell me anything.

Anyway I have faxed the infromation to Andy and the claim has been approved, he did however highlight that this was the worst dealership he had ever spoke to in his life. You would off thought that £450 of work they would take a proactive approach.

Well spoke to Lee at SMC and he did'nt say anything about the fax that could'nt be read. I asked him about when they could fix it but he indicated that they would have to ordered the parts. At no point did they ever ring me. I believe that this is the wrost dealership in the world!! And will they ring me when the parts arrive??

But the next closest one is 20 miles away.

Right then Car is booked for the 25 July, Dealer did not ring me back regarding any updates but they seemed to be more helpful on the phone today.

Electric fans all fixed today. They replaced both electirc fans and now when the aircon is on, they turn at low speed and when the engine is too hot it goes to high speed.

This time their dealer service was much better and even got a call when the car was fixed (Godd work Rob!!)

Even way I made sure that they checked the condition of the car before they started work, in case they damaged the car in thier care and I checked it at the dealership and all is perfect. BUT!! One of the clips holding 2 hose pipes near the front of the Dip stick is damaged.

For once I will let the matter rest and just purchase the clip but this just upholds the fact that all dealerships can never complete the job first time.

Anyway SMC Seat in Windsor have been the best yet!

Mine goes in for the fans replacing on Monday. It's covered under the used car warranty I got from SEAT.

Let's see how they get on...
