Hi everyone.

The bushes on my toledo are about due for replacement - The handling at the mo is like a boat at sea, and could probably be improved by replacing the bushes with Blu-tac :(

If I look under the car, one has half popped out, and the others have basically perished and are split and cracked all over the place.

My question is this:

Would I be able to replace the front wishbone rear bushes with LCR ones? I have been looking at these http://www.vwspares.co.uk/leon_suspension.php, and they seem to look the same size. I know that the LCR ones are solid and the standard ones are voided, but is this the only difference between them?

I was actually thinking of going for poly bushes, but I've been put off by horror stories of them cracking and working loose etc etc. The car is by no means a racer, and I don't know if the extra hike in price is worth it.

has anyone used vibratechnik bushes (The metallastic ones)? What do you think of them?

My last question:

I've got the car booked in a local specialist to get the work done. It's getting the front wishbone front and rear, and the rear trailing arm bushes replaced. Is it worth replacing any others while I've got the suspension apart? I've had a good gander behind the wheels and the subframe mounts and ARB Links look fine. Is it worth replacing them with the metal ones or will I not notice any difference?

Sorry for the long post but I'm confused

It's funny, before I knew about the worn bushes, the car handled bad, now, it's terrible!!

Just found this post after a search and wonder if you had an answer. I am about to replace the front and rear wishbone bushes on my 2002 se110 Toledo and have seen the same bushes. Do they fit?
Have seen audi rear wishbone bushes mentioned but a part number would be helpfull. Local Seat Audi dealer has gone bust and nearest vw dealer will only supply to their part numbers, so any help would be appreciated.

Hi Richard (That's my name too!!),

Yeah, I basically got the whole wishbone as mine was rusting pretty badly.

Got it from http://www.vwspares.co.uk/product_info.php?products_id=251

BUT, from what I've been reading, both the cupra R and the standard bushes are the same size. The only difference is the cupra one is solid and therefore doesn't flex as much.

You can get all the bushes and parts from http://www.vwspares.co.uk/leon_suspension.php.

As for the rear bushes, they do 2 different types. Solid and oil filled. Apparently the cars are supplied from the factory with oil filled ones, but they are prone to cracking and leaking, so VW brought out the solid ones.

Hope this helps.

p.s. The car feels Waaaaaaayyy better now. It also pays to get a full 4 wheel alignment done too, not just the tracking.
