Can I have the 'R' badges on my 1.4 Leon even though I don't have the 'R' kit I just want them as they look the nuts but don't want o get slated by other Leon owners
Iv just replaced my L E O N boot lettering with the mk2 C U P R A lettering. But at the end of the day mine is a LCR. I wouldnt do it, but is your car and upto you. To me its trying to make your car somthing that its not. I love seeing Rover 25 etc, fitted with the ZR body kit and plastered in x-power stickers.........why its still at Rover 25
But technically you could say everyone on here that's put the cupra r kit on the cupra's, 1.6's, tdi's.... Are all trying to make there car look like something it isn't aswell and personally a little badge is going to be far Less noticeable than a full bodykit! Was only going to put 2 on it just above the wing indicators.
The points that have already been made I agree with, its your car do what you want with it personally i dont get why you would want to make it look like something its clearly not?
Well, to be honest, you've already decided havent you, so you it doesnt matter what we say. Personally, i wouldnt, I think it would look out of place, and if your avatar picture is anything to go by, then the car looks nice anyway. But as above, your choice...
I have an 'R' and I don't even notice the badges, wouldn't care if they weren't there, I doubt anyone will notice apart from you but then again as long as you're happy with it, who cares. I leave my 'R' badge on the boot so little feckers don't try to race me so often.
If anything, putting a lower spec badge on a higher spec car is more fun
If you whack a couple of R badges on, then get tanned by every Corsa / Saxo driving monkey in the town, people will either think your car is a fake, or you are Captain Slow.
If you don't have the hustle under the bonnet I'd be tempted to de-badge for the smooth look. There is far more mystery in the unknown.
My backside is nice and smooth... of the car that is
I do have an alternative approach to badging though which is my re-badging sticker kind of thing...
Not seen anyone else do something like this, and I love being different
I still get chavs in their little petrol cars trying to race me, and they may have me off the line but when the power of diesel and all those lovely torques kicks in their faces drop to their ars!
TBH, i don't agree with putting the badge on a lesser car .
I did however put a 318i badge on my old CSL, that was great when Mr Rep man tried to burn you with their 325i's, the look on some of their faces was priceless
tbf mate i wouldnt do it...and yes some people make their car cupra reps with the bumpers etc but the bumpers look good and dont look as bad as a single 'R' badge imo...but mate its your car,do what you want
like having a dog and barking you self.but its your car and people will think its a r and then you will get pissed off when you carnt race them lol.but the best way is too have it smooth and de badged then you keep them quessing at what it is.but i dont have this problem cos mine is a lcr.so when you get the little badboys trying to race you i smoke thembut at the end of the day its you car
I like the idea of debadged or underbadged much more than claiming to have something you don't. It's like getting a big chrome "Turbo" or "Sport" badge from Halfords really. As others have said, it's your car, do as you please, but I wouldn't.
