Just put my forge recirc on and in the process of putting the neuspeed p flow on.

Wanted to know how to remove the MAF sensor without breaking it (cant really see clips) and also removing the 2 screws on the MAF to remove it from the air intake.

Tried BnQ and they didnt really help to much to find the right bit to remove the screws.

Cheers

the plastic tube the sensor sits in is where you remove it, clips either side. you shouldnt need to touch the screws... i take it you putting it back with the induction kit?

lol i didnt get round to fitting the induction kit, the neuspeed instructions were:

1.unplug MAF sensor wire. Squeeze spring clamps that holds the air intake hose to the MAF sensor, and pull hose off MAF.

2. I understand the rest of them!

It was getting dark and football was about to start, so i didnt bother getting on with it, tried getting the MAF off for an hour so decided to give up and try tomorrow.

mine had jubilee clips on the maf tube.. the spring clips can be awkward:)
without the right tool you may have to replace them.
maf disconnects by pushing a little tab in, screwdriver helps. when putting maf back with your new filter try to keep the angle as it was.

youve only really got to undo the airfilter side of the maf tube id have thought.

good luck with it:)

Sorry for sounding thick, so gotta use a screwdriver for the clips on the sensor. and then the torx piece on the screws!

It was so much simpler on my 1.6 mk4 golf!

do you mean you want to remove the security bolts that hold in physical MAF sensor?

why do you need to take the sensor out?

There are two types of security screws, depends which ones you have fitted as it seems to be pot luck from Seat. one MAF i bought the security screws fitted fine, and the replacement MAF I had was a completely different shape of security screws which were a pain in the ass to remove!!

if it is the star shapes with the metal bit in the middle, then halfords sell these

was just trying to follow the instructions from neuspeed, looking at the screws again, i THINK it may be a spline type, so like a female version of a torx piece

right just found out there called tamperproof torx bits, you can get them from toolstation website.

As said above, can be found in asda for a fiver, friend of mine confirmed this!

you shouldnt need to touch the torx head screws whatso ever.

its the whole ridgid black tube the sensor sits in they refer to as the maf. the electrical connection is simply push fit, except a black tab that needs pushing in, then it will just pull off. this is just above the torx screw area.

seconded, the physical MAF sensor does not need to be touched at all. NO induction kit requires this to be touched at all

it should just be a case of popping on the new filter and thats about it

ill copy up the instructions because im still a tad confused about the MAF!

1. unplug MAF sensor wire. Squeeze spring clamps that holds the air intake hose to the MAF sensor, and pull hose off MAF

2. Remove the two screws on the back side of air filter housing and lift off top cover. Then remove the two bolts (10mm) located at front and back of lower portion of air filter housing and remove.

3. Remove MAF (two screws) from top cover. Using supplied bolts and nyloc nuts, attach the MAF to the engine side of the P-Flo bracket with the electrical connector facing toward the rear.

4. Install completed assembly using the stock bolts (10mm) thru mounting tabs at front and rear locations. Re-Clamp the air intakehose to the MAF sensor; connect MAF sensor wire into the harness.

5. Install the Neuspeed filtet.

6. if air pump equipped, snap factory air pump hose on the special neuspeed billet fitting.

Does this make sense to anyone?

that refers to removing the whole maf from the airbox lid.

pic 1 is what i ment about using a screw driver to push in a tab disconnecting the maf. little flat blade will do
pic 12 is the actual maf sensor they mention as a unit.

good luck with it

You don't need to disconnect the MAF to fit a P-Flo. I managed not to when fitting mine, the shield should just slip down and you can slide the MAF housing into it while it's still connected to the turbo inlet pipe.

Don't forget that the instructions are for an Audi TT. There are subtle differences in the engines so fit it using common sense :), I bypassed the intructions altogether, mind you, I'm no stranger to fitting these.

Where are you located? If you are having big problems with it and you are local, i'll be more than happy to help.
