Nobody has taken delivery of one in the UK yet, dont even have a firm spec!!

Finalised the purchase of my LCR today :p Put the deposit down in November.
My order form reads; Comes with leather and cons pack as standard. Have ordered speed blue, tech pack + rear side air bags. The dealer can officially put my order on early march. :D

The order form reads a base price of 25K  without the options i've gone for.
Milton Keynes buy the way.

ouch didn't think it was going to be that much without options! - Have they said this price might be lower when officially announced?

Know of someone who put down a deposit in November with Braintree - thought it might have been you ;)

Back in November when i put the deposit down, they estimated it was going to be 23k ish. So was not too happy when they called me last week.
It does come with Leather and cons pack as standard, but were not open for any discounts what so ever. They recon 2 per dealer.. who knows...

23K was with out leather and coms and was why we had not got a firm price as they were deciding on spec and what price to slot the Cupra R and maybe it has won't be fully finalised until March.

The Cupra is still pretty much with the Megane RS in performance terms and 1.5K cheaper. I suppose the thinking is that they needed a reasonable price difference between the too so not to steal sales and make the R more exclusive???? Then pitch the R at the super hatch level Focus RS, S3, Golf R ect.

I think at that kind of money it's getting dangerously close to Scirocco R / Golf R / S3 territory.

Yes it's a fantastic car, but the beauty of the old R was you could buy it for a song in purist spec and have the benefits of a car worth significantly more without all the faff.

With a few well chosen options it will sit it close to £27k ('special' paints / sunroof / winter packs etc...). I wonder if Brembo's are on the menu (somehow doubt it), like the optional brakes on the Boc.

Will be a nice car, but against the Cupra it just looks overpriced.

at £25k that £4k more then the cupra which is extremely excessive! There wasn't that much difference with the MkI

At that price and as Warren has said with a few options it will be near the other big names in which case people will rather get the "better" VW or Audi badge

Hopefully this is all wrong!

Agree totaly 23K - 23.5K seemed a good price point for it, would rather have leather as an option and a cheaper base price TBH.

Absolutely, and an opportunity missed. What has always made SEAT such an attractive offering in the past is it provides something every bit the real deal at a good deal less than the 'price premium' VAG brands.

I would happily come back from Audi to SEAT as there is hardly anything premium about the ownership experience except the price, but with the Mk2 LCR at that price point I'd be struggling to justify selling up the S3 for it.

There again, when a loaded Boc is £20k I guess I'm not that suprised.

I drove the Cupra R and drove most of the new Audi's.. The cupra is a very nice car in every spec. The only thing that really hurts my feelings is the under steer! too much under steer!
Other than that, the car is really nice to drive.

Good to hear its a decent drive.

I drove the facelift Cupra a few weeks back and it was a fantastic car. Really good.

I hope they manage to get you a user manual sorted, makes it look like the new R model may have been rushed out. I think with the old LCR we got a Leon Cupra handbook with a supplemental leaflet for R owners, so maybe that is all you are missing as there isn't a world of difference between the two cars.

yes it is a decent drive.. the best thing is it .. is the surprise u feel of the torque! each time u push the throttle, ur literally surprised from the torque your getting. And Some may think i am not used to fast cars that is why i am saying this! I also own a Lumina SS 500N/M torque! and a 400wheel turbo M30 bmw! :) so i know wats torque! :)
The suspension of the R is really nice, not too stiff, and not too smooth, but sporty!
The exhaust sound is perfect! :) It start building boost starting 2500RPM.. If your going 3rd gear 40 km/h and u push full throttle you can listen to your tires shout! its that torqueyyy :bleh:
