Cupra power delivery

Calling all Cupra owners, both STD and mapped. How is the power delivery in your Cupra? I suspect there may be a problem with my car - it's done 5K miles and has always been a bit VTEC like in it's power delivery, with a big surge 4.5K upwards. I've just tried a Bluefin map and it's even more noticeable - with the new map there's virtually no difference 2-4k than before the map then 4.5K upwards there's a huge surge in power. Anything to look for?

Seems normal to me?! I never really pay attention to the revs but im pretty sure the boost comes in hard about 4k, just ffed the throttle in should make it nice and smooth.

Power definatly comes in much later, with a massive surge after 4K. This is normal and is to do with the fueling of the car when mapped (as the stock pump craps out in the mid-range because it can't keep the fuel pressure steady or high enough). Hence the massive surge later on.

All solved with the Autotech HPFP internals modification though...

Yes, the way that the new Cupra 2.0 TFSI engine delivers its power has nothing to do with the way that the old 1.8T engine did ... The latter was very powerful between 2500-5500rpm, after which it was dead...:(

Exactly, I had the old Cupra remapped and it picked up immediately whereas the new Cupra takes off at 4K and keeps going. Now I know it's normal, I'm happy. Just need to save up for a uprated fuel pump now.
