Cupra Model Difference

I am buying a cupra which is the main thing, and yes I know I should be buying an R, but thats another story.

I have seen;

Leon Cupra 1.8 20v T Cupra
and
Leon Cupra 1.8 20v T Cupra FR

I cant see much diff in the specs on offer, but they arent extensively listed.

I need to make the choice (other than arctic grey or blue!)

anyone help!????

The FR is what Seat changed the Cupra branding to a couple of years ago. They are 99% the same car, aside from a couple of minor cosmetic differences such as wing mirror colours.

so it is essentially the same as the std cupra, but a later edition? Just a cosmetic difference then

1% difference in spec for the same money could swing it! ha.

Exactly that. They painted the mirrors a different colour, changed the badges, changed the wheels and sent it out again :)

The wheels are the only major difference really. They are both 17" but are a different style. Not a big deal if you plan on changing them anyway ;)

and of course the FR looses the 6 disc changer that you get in the cupra. So the FR is a lower spec model.;)

hmmm, but the FR states Multichanger..... bright blue or platinum grey metallic!?

I never ever thought I would choose a car based on colour alone!

sorry about all the dumb questions, but is their a 150 T Cupra as well as a 180T cupra?

Does the T Cupra FR differentiate between these at all?

I want to make sure I get a 180 - what are the obvious signs if any before I go and see the cars - they are both some distance so i want to know all i can before i decide which to go and see

both on an 03 plate

pre-facelift cupra <03
Facelift cupra (petrols and diesels) 03>
Facelift FR (petrols and disels)
Facelift FR+ (petrols and diesels)

Seat never actually called any of the Leons 'Cupra FR', it was either the Cupra... or... the FR (or the FR+ as well if you want to be picky! lol). So if you see one advertised as a Cupra FR, it's just the dealer calling it that to use a brand people already know.

thanks for all your responses!!

Went for the platinum grey in the end - 03 plate 1.8t cupra - love it!!!

At the garage there was also an 03 plate black cupra R. Have decided to get an R for myself to replace my vectra V6!! Have to wait a little while and save some pennies, but has to be done as these cars are stunning.

Cant wait to pick it up later in the week. As soon as I have picked it up I have a 70 mile drive home (I searched long and hard for the best car/price), and I cant wait for that drive. I actualy go on holiday next weekend, and I cant lok forward to that, havent even thought about it haha!
