The Cupra's insurance group has been confirmed.

Most on-line sites list it now when getting a quote. Although the 3 I just tried went bang at the end and gave an error.

If i remember rightly the gti mkV is group 17.So 240hp cupra isnt bad in comparison i dont think! The difference between the GTi and the FR (insurance-wise) is what swayed me towards the Seat as im only 22 and quotes were getting a bit rediculous:rolleyes:

I've managed to get a quote at last. £267 fully comp (ok £500 excess), but still. That's cheaper than the FR quote from elsewhere! That's for me and my wife.

hmmmmm.... maybe the running costs for the Cupra aren't as much as I thought they would be........

On this subject, when I was Leon hunting, I got a few quotes and a Cupra was actually cheaper to insure than a 20vt sport! Was quite alot considering (about £45 a year more expensive from memory and was from the same company)

Wondering if its teh same for the FR and the new sport model (is there a new sport model?)

Direct Line have qouted me online at £540.

Full no claims (over 10 years now), with no claims protection, legal cover, guaranteed hire car and a £250 excess.

Which given im a Stockport postcode, right next to a Manchester one its around what i expected.

Tried Admiral, over £800, i pissed myself laughing then closed the webpage.

Tried confused today, no Cupra yet. But as comparison did it on an FR TFSI, Direct Line are still cheaper so far.

Car isn't here though for a while yet it seems :p So plenty of time to start ringing around too.

Just looked on insuresupermarket. their spider lists the Cupra. And i've got a nice list of premiums. So gives me some options.

The post office of all places is offering it to me at £300 for Fully Comp cover, but i'll have to see whats included/ I want no claims protection, legal cover and a hire car. SO i expect that to rise, but it claims on the list they are included.

roflmao. :D Clicked on the link on the post office qoute to check it thru on their site. And they think its a 1.6 Stylance.

That worked well then. :p

You didn't really expect the Post Office to take you to the correct destination did you?

I lived in hope. Most of the big ones seems to be similar in price around the high 400's or low to mid 500s. Comparitive to my Leon Cupra R really.

I could bring it down if i upped my voluntary excess, but the offset isn't that much really. I'll try a few specialists too, like our sponsors Livingstones insurance and Noel Dazely, once i've a good idea of when the car is due.

Just my postcode that hurts my premiums, and it annoys me really because were not in a bad area of Stockport, its the posh part. :D I'm considering getting a tracker for this car, hopefully it might help the premium, and my own piece of mind.

When you say 'car isn't here for a while it seems', when realistically do you envisage getting it? My dealer said he wouldn't want to overpromise and underdeliver so he said realistically mid-March rather than March 1st for mine. But I get the feeling that this may also be optimistic.

And now for a silly question, but I will ask it anyway and take the associated flak, given the options I selected of rear side airbags, bluetooth and ipod, will these be fitted in the 'normal' factory or as part of the hand-build when the Cupra is finished off in the 'special' factory? The reason I ask is that as an 'order' can't be placed to my specific requirements yet, the only way I will get one in March is if my dealer can get hold of one that already has been built to my spec (and colour), which makes it even harder. Whereas, if the options are done later when it has left the normal factory and finished off in the Cupra factory I stand a better chance!
