After I saw this message, I went on Ebay to see what sort of grilles were there. There are a few for sale that advertise themselves as being suitable for the Toledo and the Leon as the same part, although they were only standard grilles rather than the Cupra grille?

The standard ones do seem to be quite common (probably due to alot of accidents involving the front of the car), but I had real trouble finding the chrome edged grille from the V5, so you might have similar trouble looking for the Cupra version. Considering it is a 'disposable' part in the event of a collision, it is possible that the dealer has put a reasonable price on it?

Thanks for the replies.

I was looking at a chrome edged grill after seeing one on the SEAT site under accesories. £20.

The picture is a bit poor. Are there any decent pics of this? Anyway I'll keep trying my local breakers for a cupra grill.

cheers

Ive been trying to find a better picture for you on ebay, but it looks like the chrome trim isn't as common as I thought!!

By the looks of it (and the price) the accessory is just three chrome plastic rings that go round the edge of the standard grille. They don't fit terribly well on mine, the bonnet closing makes the centre ring come away from the grille. The chrome is also flaking away, leaving the cream plastic showing underneath.

Ive got the chrome grill rings on my SX leon. The fit is fine, they come with glue and have not yet droped off, I dont have a problem with them catching. Fit is perfect.
they should fit on the cupra grill as I asked when I got them from the dealer as thats some thing I want to do to mine

I think you might be on to something there. You seem to have a very slight gap between the rings and your bonnet, which suggests to me its perhaps not my grille rings are fault, its my bonnet coming down too far.

Looks like I have a bit of bonnet tweaking and supergluing to do!! :D

Although for the sake of £20 I might buy a new set and fit them properly.

(And I've just noticed you're in Cannock, you're only about five miles North of me! Spooky!)

Nice pic richellis,

I think I might not bother with the cupra grill, I reckon I'll purchase the chrome kit instead.

Thanks all.
