Cupra front main grille

Hi,

Im going to get the Cupra front and rear bumpers fitted to my Ibiza 130 sport, ive already got the grilles and rear valance from a previous car so i thought i might aswell.
yes yes i know everyone upgrades to the Cupra bumpers, but theres not any other kit out there that looks anywhere near as good as the Cupra kit.

My problem is im happy with the power that the car has at the moment, however ive been reading about the problems with the SMIC. ive been looking at the main front cupra grille and wondering why, near the tow eye cover its all blocked up? surely i could cut out all the blocked holes etc so that air could circulate through to the SMIC?
The area where its blocked up doesnt look structural or anything, and this would mean that for now i wouldnt have to get a FMIC.

if you could give me your opinions id be grateful, Thanks

Cheers Rich,
Ive read through the thread and fully understand what you mean about drilling out n filling down the blocked up parts of the main grille. Have you sorted out yours yet? let me know how you got on.
