Hi Guys,
As i posted a couple of months ago, my engine went on my Cupra 290.
Im posting an update and to make people aware that SEAT are not that great with their customers.
I got told this week that my car will need an engine which was a bit obvious from the noises it was making, so the garage has put in a goodwill claim and ive been told my contribution is £2700 for a fault that was nothing to do with me.
I have asked for an explanation of the fault and they have said the engine has been ran dry and caused the damage, so i asked but what caused the engine to run dry ie a faulty oil pump as i have found out this is ment to be common on these engines from VW.
Their answer is we havent stripped the engine down to find the fault as we know it needs an engine due to the swarf in the sump and the scorch marks on the con rod, what kind of answer is that as i would have thought you would strip an engine to find the cause of the fault not just say its knackered!
So i have asked them to find the fault and they have replied that i need to authorise the extra time for them to find the fault and there is really no point as it will be the same outcome!!
Does anyone else think i need to contact SEAT Customer Services and ask what is happening in their garages as they arent really doing what they should be??
Sorry for the long post but after being told this close to xmas and waiting 2 montha for a 2700 bill and no real answer, im gutted and angry!!
