hi and welcome,

yeh the main difference is that the R has a mild factory map taking it to 180bhp, both have the same turbo and will remap to the same figure aswell. The R also has the seat sport suspension pack making it abit better setup and planted(i think). But the main and best difference is that the R has 4pot brembo breaks. The cupra just has standard brakes that are ok on the normal cupra but once remaped they struggle to cope! Oh and the R's are uber rare, only 75 brought to the UK and probably about 10-15 of those are now right offs! Think thats about it, im sure if you search you can find some more info.

nice one,
do u know if u can simply buy an ECU off a cupra R and change it im already in the prosses of sortin some new coilies and am unsure compleatly about brakes ever would know were to start and what to buy. Plus i would not want to loose the original wheels and would not know what would fit if i bought after market brakes.
thanks dan.

yeh i was thinking the same, no point sourcing a cupra r ecu when you can remap the R to get the same power.
