Well as the title states my brakes have just failed, typically when approaching a speed bump slightly quicker than I perhaps should have been.

Pedal felt normal for a second then went completely soft and hit the floor. :wtf:

I managed to slow down enough by a quick down shift and some good ol' "E Brake". Catastrophe avoided.

A quick road side inspection did not show any signs of fluid leaking onto our around the brakes but I did find a puddle on the ground after rolling backwards from where I had stopped the car and pumped the brakes. Perhaps from literally under the fluid bottle. I'm sure some hit the exhaust as a feint whiff of smoke drifted past the headlights.

Sound familiar to anyone?

Check your brake hoses....I had something very similar coming up to a roundabout whilst travelling at 70, luckily no one was on the roundabout and I got around it.

Get someone to stand outside the car and then press the brake pedal, hopefully they'll hear something
