I'm hopefully getting my new Black metallic Leon FR delivered tomorrow and I was thinking of getting a cupra badge as I've always liked them.

I've been told the badges come with Black or Red writing.
I'm thinking red will show up better on a black car. Are there any pics of these anywhere, I don't seem to be able to find them. I assume the badge is writing plus the flag??

The dealer says they cost £14.99 inc. vat and I can have them by Friday.
Another thing, I was wondering do std. Leon mats cost £29.99? anyone know where to get these cheaper? If not I'll get these.

I wondered if anyone has fitted these (and where) were they easy to fit (stick on, clip on?) and any pics?

Cheers

P.S. I know the std FR has red/black lettering on side. I'm thinking of placing the badge on front grille.

Mine came with the black/red FR badge on the wings and a red TDi badge on the back under the LEON.

The only place you could put the CUPRA badge would be under the SEAT badge.

It would mean you had it badged as a SEAT LEON FR CUPRA TDi.

The mats I got were £29.99 but the dealer chucked them in for free. They are black with a red border.

some people had been paying up to £20 on ebay......

I saw that on EBay too. Didn't quite understand it... Not just Cupra badges either. I saw one guy bidding for a ***used*** LEON badge at £25 - New from a dealer for less than a tenner. Figure that one out then...???

Thanks. I later realised that stealer must have been quoting me for some other Cupra badge?? as he was saying it came with either red or yellow writing?! Anyway, the one I meant was like on ChrisUK's car -and I asked another SEAT dealer this time and he said its about £7. The only prob.is the dealership where I am actually buying the car from (not my local SEAT dealer) doesnt seem to know much and wont even throw in car mats(for free) as people call it. But as I am saving over £400 in the sale and P/ex price from this SEAT dealer to my local SEAT dealer, guess I cant complain over the price of 30 quid car mats!

I'm not sure about the cupra badge (I like the badge in itself) and if I did get it would probably stick it on front grille -was it easy to fit? Did you have buy separate clips to stick it on grille? I understand the £7 badge only comes as a stick on?? and as I dont want to stick it on the boot next to the 1.8T 20V and the sides already have FR -sticking anything else would be confusing in my opinion.

Anyway My car is finally here!!(not with me -but its arrived!!) I will see it in the flesh on Saturday!! will miss my Toledo though too

There are 2 differeng badges.

There is the standard cupra badge that has a sticky back (for the rear of the car). Or there is the cupra grille badge that is not sticks but has "prongs" on it.

I didnt fancy taking apart my grille to fit this so I stuck mine on with some super sticky super glue :D

Make sure you order the correct badge !!

Ask Dave in the IMG Warrington dealer thread to get you one (just tell him it's like mine) - and he will charge you the above & p&p

Sorry to drag up this old thread again - its the only 1 I could find with a picture. I am thinking of adding a Cupra badge to the front of my FR to give it a bit of road presence.

Anyone else have any pics, I am not sure whether to go for the one with the flag like Chris, or a standard sticky one, and also whether to go silver or red (on a silver FR).

Is it is just a bit "not done" on an FR?

guides - exterior mods - cupra grille badge.

Thats it on a leon - its not got a flag on it as brendy pointed out to me that it looks just as good without it :)

However, I no longer have all three chrome grille bits on the front of my car - some b*gger tried to nick one of them a week ago and broke it in the process (i've had to remove both of them now) and then someone stole my valve caps last night - not a happy chappy at the moment :(

Thanks mate, definitely looks good. I will try to source one of those (dont want to pay £17 from ebay). Still not sure whether to go for red or black writing though.

Have you tried spincaps.com ??? very difficult to nick them!!

Thanks guys, very helpful - definitely think it adds something to the front.

I reckon a red one will look better on my silver.

Cheers for bringing this up again -its just reminded me I should decide where to stick the cupra badge. I did buy one in the end -i t cost around £7 from the dealer -so don't buy over inflated priced ones off Ebay! It's the one with a sticky back I'm wondering if it will stick direct to the grille in front or will it drop off or get pulled off?!
