As per the title; 6 week old MY19 Cupra with c.3k miles been into the dealers today.
Confirmed that the rear discs were warped and they will replace under warranty; however, at present they are refusing to replace the pads under warranty too as the vehicle is considered low mileage.
Obviously I’m not happy with this decision at all; the discs have warped due to high temps generated - if the disc has failed, then the friction material of the pad will have also significantly degraded.
Furthermore the root cause of the high temperatures has not yet been identified; have the sliding pins been sufficiently greased? has the caliper seized - not unusual for swarf to be left behind during manufacture? are the pads moving freely? etc.
This decision is baffling and does not follow sound engineering judgement; just penny pinching.
The retail price of the pads are £64.09 inc VAT from TPS - SEAT will surely get these at cost price, so why am I even having to have this fight with SEAT for a brand new car?
