As per the title; 6 week old MY19 Cupra with c.3k miles been into the dealers today.

Confirmed that the rear discs were warped and they will replace under warranty; however, at present they are refusing to replace the pads under warranty too as the vehicle is considered low mileage.

Obviously I’m not happy with this decision at all; the discs have warped due to high temps generated - if the disc has failed, then the friction material of the pad will have also significantly degraded.

Furthermore the root cause of the high temperatures has not yet been identified; have the sliding pins been sufficiently greased? has the caliper seized - not unusual for swarf to be left behind during manufacture? are the pads moving freely? etc.

This decision is baffling and does not follow sound engineering judgement; just penny pinching.

The retail price of the pads are £64.09 inc VAT from TPS - SEAT will surely get these at cost price, so why am I even having to have this fight with SEAT for a brand new car?

Have you complained to Seat CS as I would be.

Not yet... really looking forward to several weeks of telephone ping-pong before someone with any authority can make a decision!

Dont know if this is still going but in the past people have used this

Taken from another thread.

I was looking for a SEAT CS email but stumbled across this website complaint.resolver.co.uk its run by money super market. You fill out some details and questions, then the website will open a case with seat, If they don't reply the case is automatically escalated to a higher level. They deal with the complaint for you which seems pretty cool to me.

What I've learned in my time in the trade is that firstly, brake repairs under warranty are very rare, and that most manufactures will cover discs but not pads.

How worn are they ? If they have only lost 1 or 2mm, you won't have a problem and won't be replacing them still for a fair amount of time. If there worn very low, they may say you've used most of the brake pads and would usually offer the pads to be replaced without labour as they have already been removed.

I get your frustration completley, but it's probably not as bad as first though only replacing the discs if they have hardly any wear on them.

You may just end up wasting your time with calls to customer relations and what not trying to get round there repair procedures, having said that I got 3x alloy wheel refurb costs covered by seat customer relations after the dealer said the poor finish wasn't covered.
