So I managed to kerb my left front wheel today ( only had the car a week), would a powder coat repair be enough? Despite the fact I was barely moving, it's left a decent gash in the wheel. I'm guessing wheel repair places fill in the gap with weld or something. I'm in West Midlands if anyone can recommend a decent company for the repair.

I feel your pain mate. I've used a company just off Spaghetti junction, the Wheel Specialist. They used to be on Tyburn Road but are now part of Bannings Tyres just round the corner on Lichfield Road. Touch wood I have not had to use them for the diamond cuts, but they did an excellent job repairing and powder coating previous LCR's alloys. I know they do diamond cut refurbs as theyve just bought a new machine for it.
Address is 513 Lichfield Road, Aston, B6 7SR. 0121 328 1697.

Thanks, pretty close to the dealership where I got the car from then. Are they diamond cut wheels then? This is why I can't have nice things.

star city seat? The current 290 and previous 280 were diamond cut, when I got the R the dealer painted the wheels black but it kept flaking so I had them powder coated. Then damaged one so had it repaired. Soddin potholes!!

Ouch !

Hi there -I really do feel for you - Diamond cut alloys are a nightmare !!
Ive used these guys before - a chap called alex is very helpful.

Midland Alloy Wheel Refurbishment & Tyre Specialists Ltd
Unit 11
Premier Trading Estate
Birmingham
B7 4AT

Not a great place to look at - but they do a first class job .

I paid £85 a rim - If you want perfection.
Its a steep price ! but stripping and any alloy in fill - and powder coating - and wet finishing and diamond cutting - Its a big process .
Thats why Ive gone off 18 inch titaniums - I had these that cost the same for a mild scrape in a rebuild .
Now 18 inch performance wheels - that cost £45 to sort out.
That said - the 18 ins performance have never been scraped - but the titaniums -when some :censored:comes at you and forces you to the take the kerb .... enough said !
Hope it helps !
