So I took my 19s off in favour of some black 18s, not to mention my 19s were heavily stone chipped and water damaged and need refurbishment.
Now after 18 months the wheel arch is too high (I don't want to lower it) and I miss the 19s (funny how time changes opinions) and want them back on but I'm in 2 minds.... Do I get them refurbed or do I get them powder coated black? I do like the black on white/grey/blue* I know once that's done you can't go back... So in turn de-valueing them. While there isn't a lot of same colour cupras in my area I like it not being standard...

Does anyone have pics of them powder coated?

*colour seems to depend on weather and dirtiness

Being diamond cut, you can only repair them in the same style once or twice. However someone on FB recently had there Sub8 wheels painted in Shadow/Black Chrome. Gave 95% the effect of the diamond cut look, but also looked different too. Maybe worth considering.

Yes I was aware of that too, they've never been repaired yet and also didn't want to have the same issue a couple years down the line.. Unfortunately we cannot control simple stone chips!
The black chrome idea sounds interesting, I will certainly consider that!

Remember your 18" wheels+tyres will have the same rolling radius as your 19" wheels+tyres did, if you chose the alternative SEAT tyre size for 18" - ie 225/40 X 18 from the original 235/35 X 19, so gap should have remained the same - or as near as.

You beat me to it! That was my thought when I read the first post by @MrJohn91 in this discussion thread. The wider arch gap might just be an optical illusion with an 18” wheel and higher sidewalls on the tyres compared to the original wheel / tyre set up.

I definitely did NOT know that!! Profile sizes mean very little to me if I'm honest!
Certainly must be an optical illusion then... Mind=blown

Defo food for thought!
