As the title states i am getting ever closer to part exchanging my Ibiza Gti for something smaller. I only travel 6 miles to work (mainly lanes) and have decided i would like to cut my expenditure and have a car my girlfriend can actually depress the clutch on. I would love to sell her to a forum member but cant really afford to stump up all the cash for the arosa`s i am looking at.

The car i have is rare being a 2000 registered Cupra2(69000miles) and i have fitted loads of new parts in the last year but it has the stiff clutch, creeking steering and the cobra part of the central locking is playing up meaning iam locking with the key.

How much do people think it is worth so i know what to qoute part/ex?
And am i mental to do this?

I cant keep her as i need a more practicle car. :(

If you could get the alarm fixed and if it has decent history with that age and mileage you'd probably look at £1500 maybe a little bit more. What will effect the price you'll get for it is petrol prices, they're high again and not many are gonna pay high rate for a gas guzzler.

I've had so many come and look at mine and even though they've driven it and seen that 40mpg is possible its not enough with prices as they are.

Word of warning MK1 Arosa's can suffer from heavy clutch and pedal box failure, I'd look at a Mk3 1.6 sport as its same size, nippy, good on fuel group 7 insurance and had a lovely hydraulic clutch ;)

I had a 1.6 before my current car, i think i would rather have group 5 insurance and still have 100bhp in the arosa to try and have some fun with when i regret selling the ibiza. Plus i want something i can drive down the narrow lanes and not concern myself with the t*ssers that speed in the opposite direction. Why do all the SEATs i ever interest myself in buying always have the same pedalbox issues and stiff clutch. Its a joke. My ibiza has the pedal box all new and bolted.
