Hi, new member and new owner of a 2003 cupra with the auq engine. it was completely standard when I got it but so far Ive bypassed the N249 and added a Ramair panel filter in. I have a 200cell sports cat on the way plus full stainless cat back with 2x3inch tips, when they arrive they will be getting put on, Ive also got the toyosport fmic with all the steel pipework and silicone hose couplers, after this I plan on deleting the SAI and then getting either a remapped ECU online or getting it remapped if I can find somewhere decent locally (Fife, Scotland).

anyhoo my question here is will I need a lambda spacer for after the cat? I know you need one for the decat so as not to throw the EML but dont know about the sports cat, cheers in advance.

I’d say yes to the lambda spacer. I did similar years ago when my car had a standard map and changed for a sports cat and never ever got an EML. If you don’t have the spacer you might get an EML. I think once you get the car mapped then mappers can turn the post cat checks off negating the need for a spacer, but I’m no expert.

I bought an angled spacer and put it on the post cat sensor and all has been good, before I put the spacer on I was getting a code for o2 sensor and its gone now.

Excellent. I’m on cat back milltek and foam filter with stage 1 remap looking for a bit more so sports cat down pipe is next on the list. Did you get it mapped after fitting down pipe and what sort of figures are you seeing? Cheers

Ive not had it mapped yet, but Ive got the ramair induction kit, bypassed the n29, toyosport front mount, sports cat and full stainless with no resonators so the next thing is the remap which ill need to get soon because it feels slower with all these mods so far.

had to cut out pretty much all of the fog light brackets behind the bumper for the pipes to fit, pretty easy to do though
