Cupra 1.8T air filter solution ?

I've bought a itg Maxogen a few weeks backs and Im not happy with the location of the cold air feed.

I bought it after the car had a dynotwist air filter but felt in the summer it was just taking in way to much hot air.

where the pipe seems to go is really the only location to get a air feed from but feel as it its restricted and seem to be getting flat spots now and again. the car is stage 2 and run well with the old filter but now want to get a bit more from it.

the link shows where the itg is fitted very well and mine is in the exact same location.

my question is has anyone bought a pd160 large bore air intake and some how coupled it with a cold air intake ?

i was thinking if i can find enough room to take the cold air pipe back under the air filter and onto the pd160 air intake.

Hi Scott.

I was looking into this for ages. Best idea I was going to do but couldn't be bothered to do was.... to measure the screw hole distances for the pd160/cupra pipe and so if any of these would fit.

and then run the ducting to the air filter, as the intake for the pd160/cupra is expencive for a bit of plastic.

There is no room to get a good feed

I've just kept with the panel filter, mainly because there is no decent solution. The ITG one above looks very restrictive with the cold air feed, and to run anything from the PD160 scoop requires some kind of bracketing/fabrication to stop it looking a complete mess and getting in the way of things. Annoying as I'd love the extra 'look' and sound of an open cone at times.

hhhhmmmmmm.... many moons ago....








The old ducting use to run back under the air filter and over the scoop then I cable tied the ducting over the scoop. However old addage... square peg round hole.

But where the ducting ran back under the air filter it started to rub on the metal work.
