Hi there,
Will the suspension from a Ibiza Cupra 1.8T 20V fit a Ibiza TDi?
Without any problems, is it a straight fit like for like?
Please let me know if you can help me out.
Cheers
Ben

dunno if itll fit , but youll probably find if theyre OEM springs ,with the heavier diesel engine itll sit too low , and be very wallowy ,

ETKA says all the diesels all come with "heavy duty" suspension

Bit off topic kinda.
My new setup must be pretty solid, as i jacked the front up today, right near the front undernieth the cill and when the front wheel was off the ground i looked at the back and that was off the ground too, wonder if ill beable to get the back wheel off the ground when i take it on a track

if you own a sport, the shoxx should be the same and you couldn't use the springs,,, what would be the point??

try and ask someone with ETKA about the part #'s of the shoxx for the 1.8T and the tdi. Just to double check and being sure,,, age is slowly letting my mind fail more and more often,,,

try droppin fl@pper a pm, he if he's got the time, he should be able to help,,,

Thats normal for a smallish hatch with a short wheel base.

Don't wanna sound thick but my car is a Ibiza mk3 90bhp TDi, so i take it that the Cupra Suspension will not fit at all??

i think the shocks will, but they be the worng damping rates etc , and youll definately need new springs , i dont think its worth the hassle , id buy a kit (either OEM or aftermarket) for your car , most of the aftermarket stuff can do lots of models , the shocks in my car are designed for petrol and diesel models , and springs as well i think, because they are a lot firmer than the original stuff

check your engine code mate, it's on the white sticker in the boot under the carpet.
as stoney says, the shocks will most probably fit but you'll need springs as already said. don't you have a suspension workshop in your area? I guess you could go with the cupra shocks but you could use some stiffer springs from a kit for another car [for example golf gt tdi mk3 - which uses the 110hp engine].
the image stoney posted ain't quite clear since there is more than one schock for each engine. You'd better go to a seat dealer and ask if the cupra shocks will work for your car. IIRC fl@pper is works as a partsman for seat so he should know.
Problem with the cupra shocks could be the damping coefficient,,, but then damping IMO is just a matter of personal preferences,,, [ok, at least if you're driving on jelly]
