Collecting my Exeo on Tuesday so I haven't had a chance to peruse the user manual, but I was wondering what the little cubbyhole thingy in the glovebox is ? It's got an electrical plug on the back of it, and a little socket on the inside of the glovebox to he right. When I pulled it, the whole thing came out, made me wonder why it isn't fastened more securely, and what the feck its for !

Having recently bought an Exeo without a manual I'd also like to know the answer to this question. Manual off eBay on the way but I'm stuck with not understanding several buttons an functions until it arrives.

You plug your iPod in and it plays through the stereo :)

Which model Exeo is it? There are two types of iPod dock I think. Cars with the Tech pack have a cubby with a 30-pin fixed dock connector in it, non Tech packs have the one with the lead. I think that's right..!

Have a look on seat.co.uk - page 31 of the pdf brochure shows a pic of the dock.

Re the functionality of the iPod dock on the Tech pack cars (RNS-E nav, Bose 10 speaker system)... It's bollocks so just use a cable. Straight up - it really is bad.

I haven't got the car yet, getting it Tuesday. It's a 2011 sport tech 170, most of my music is in .flac format, converted to apple lossless on my iPod, can I play flacs on the sd slots or will it just play mp3's ?

Not sure what formats the SD slots will play but that's another option for playback. I just use the Aux In. The Bose kit is amped nicely so you don't lose a lot through it like most Aux In efforts.

There are a few threads kicking about with SD slot info. Sorry I can't be more specific but it's not something I use - I usually listen to the radio or podcasts :)

Sport Tech 170 - enjoy! Peachy motor the 170.

The ipod dock should come with a range of plastic adaptors to facilitate the fitting of the various ipods. I don't have one (or any desire to own one) but i play most of my music collection across two 16gb SD cards. They are almost faultless.

Seat Exeo St Sport Tech

Ok folks bit new to this but have a question I would like to put out there.

Collect my Seat Exeo ST 143 Sport Tech next week. It def has the RNS-E unit fitted. Does the media system in the Seat Exeo ST sport tech model enable you to play dvd's? Mine also has an i-pod dock, will this let me play music videos or even movies from my i-phone onto the screen? If not is there an add on module I can buy to enable me to watch DVD's directly or even an off the shelf docking system which will allow e to play the music videos or movies from my i-phine. Bit of a shame to have a nice screen like that and not be abe to use it to its full potential.

Heres hoping!!

Sadly it doesn't play any moving pictures. Irrespective of the functionality of the unit, I think there is legislation that prevents movies being played in view of the driver.

The consensus of the ipod dock is that's it's a bit pants. Far better to use the SD slots and have full listings and wheel controls.

Good luck with the new car.
