Cruise Control MPG

Not sure if this has been discussed here before but should I experience better MPG by using the cruise control on my 2.0 TDI Sport? (or any other car for that matter)

Just a thought?

I believe its better if driving long distances on a flat surface. Its you are constantly going up/down hill its better to not use it. But tbh, i use it at any given chance!

Yeah so long as the traffic allows you to stay at your set speed, then yes you should be getting better MPG.

If you have to keep dropping out or speeding up then no it wont work out better.

Every car i have ever driven with it, uses more fuel with it on, as the thottle never completely closes.

Also, if I am driving in a higher gear and the rev's drop below 2000 will I be using more fuel than if I dropped gear and the engine wasn't struggling as much?

Sorry if thats a silly question?
