My driveway is on an incline and when I get out of the car there's a horrible creak from the back right wheel area.

This creak only happens on an incline and only happens after a drive, i.e. if I get in and out of the car cold it wont make a noise.

I'm only 12st 8, so I can't have knackered the suspension already :p?

Any ideas? I thought it might have been the handbrake not being tight enough, but the handle's as tight as can be, i.e. won't ratchet up any further.

Mine does this also, if it is the same noise as mine, then i think it is just normal. Mine has done it since day 1, but i cant say it has really annoyed me. My old car did it too. I thought it was just normal

you sound pretty annoyed. Yours must be much worse than mine. maybe even a completely different thing. I hardly notice mine tbh and it sounds natural rather than an annoying squeek.

i thought it was just the brakes bedding in against the disc/drum as the weight distrubution changes and thus nothing that can really be avoided?

I agree about paying good money for a non-squeaking car though, mines getting taken apart and put back together next week cos there's too many squeaks and rattles.

That'll be your handbrake/rear disks. As the suspension rises it pulls the disks slightly (I think).

Yeh it sunds like its just your handbrake on the disc brakes at the back as the weight resolves itself. you may notice it on other cars too.

Whenever I park on an incline and engage the handbrake it gives a small bump as i let go the brake pedal, haven't noticed it squeak though, i usually have loud music but will give to it more attention next time

Nature of the beast, every fwd car I've had with a beam rear axle has done it and by design will do it.
