Crazy Wipers!

Recently Started having problems with my Wipers. mainly they wont stop.
They work fine for a bit, but when they are on intermitant every now and then they dont park at the bottom of screen, then when I turn the wipers off they start going and I cant turn them off????? Fairly certain its not the stalk. Any ideas..

Wipers used to work off a timer relay, not sure if they're ECU controlled now??? How do you know its not the stalk?

It seems to only happen when the wiper hasnt parked at the bottom of the windscreen during intermitant wipe. Normally inch or two up, then when I go to turn them off they start all the time. Sometimes it will work fine for a bit. Dont know how the motor is switched. As its intermitant hoping not an ECU fault.

Had a similar problem: when on intermitent they would go on like normal or park on center of windscreen. Had to take the motor apart, it was swimming in water, shortcircuits everywhere

Thought it might be motor related, If I manually push the wiper back to the proper resting position they stay off.

Have a look at your wiper linkages. The MK4 Golf I used to run had the same problem until I replaced a seized linkage. Cost about 20 sheets from VW.

Cheers, Having a look this weekend. Found that if I hold them down at the bottom they stop, So think def. its in that area rather than the stalk.
