Crazy Seat Belt Question !

is it possible to change the seat belts?? I dont mean the whole seat belt all i want to change is the actual belt, My friend has a mk4 astra gsi in blue and it's got blue seat belts, they look really nice and I really want some, Am I gonna be able to change just the belt?? Any help would be good as i really havn't got a clue if could work ! Thanks

I dont really see why not, although you have to make sure the connections on the end of the belts are the same so they fit in the holder thingy.
You'll more than likely need a torx shape screwhead, and a torque wrench

you'd have to disassemble the seat belt mechanism to get the belt out (17mm spanner to remove) but I don't know if you can get correct length replacements in blue....

I did think about the length also, but didnt.
Im sure you could buy coloured ones from the web somewhere before. IMO its not something i'd be worried about colour coding, just saving me. But if thats what you fancy mate, i'll see what i can find out, 2moz, in work if i get a chance to surf the web.

I would have to say DONT muck about or modify seat belts. Not worth the risk of it going horribly wrong in the event of a impact.

Thanks guys, Yeah I understand what you all mean, well i found 10m of blue seat belt on fleabay and i was gonna buy a couple of them and give it a go, but it does seem a bit risky.

Sorry but I spat my drink all over the monitor when I read that!! As said above it's do-able but I'd be tempted to get a pro to do the sewing, etc.
