Hi guys! Not been around for a while due to a few problems but now I'm back!
Just got a car scanner and scanned the airbags as I have an airbag light on and it's it's pulled up my Passenger side airbag crash sensor faulty!
Now where the hell is that? Anyone come across this before?
Many thanks
Ak

It's under the carpet just in front of the passenger seat. I'd put money on leaky door seals at some point soaking the underlay etc which has then soaked the airbag sensor.

I can get a pic of it later (tonight) for you if you want :)

Nice one bud! That would be great! I cleared the fault today but came straight back on. New one is £20 on eBay! Does it matter what model Leon they are for? Guessing they are all the same on Leon 1?

I had my driver one fail....due to door seal failed and there being a swimming pool under my carpet.

I bought one off ebay, if i remember rightly the p/n is 6q0 909 606k, but i believe for a mk1 leon you need 6q0 909 606k 00a, and i believe the one for a golf i bought was a 001. I paid £20 of ebay for the wrong one....then got the right one from sere (through forum) for around £100.
They are identical, and the p/n printed on them are the same.....but the p/n on the box was diff, if i remember rightly i needed a 00a and the golf one was 001.

As per everything to do with the airbags and restraint systems the plugs are yellow, note it bolts to the larger metal bracket. Torque setting for the crash sensor is 6Nm

Aye I'd say so, always best to with things like that :)

I'm not going for the stripped out look btw (not with those comfy but heavy leccy leathers in there!) my carpet got properly drenched and I'm waiting on a dry day to tackle to door seals properly. Got the butyl tape ready and waiting....

Are these crash sensors unique to each side or would one taken from drivers side fit passenger side ok?

I believe they are the same, as a few people swap them over to see if the fault travels to other side, if it does you know the sensor is dud!

use dave from sere motors on the dealers section on here, say your from the forum and he does a good deal, mine delivered worked out cheaper than my local dealer plus vat.....so i bought a vag specific obd2 reader and the crash sensor for the price of a crash sensor from the dealer....plus they would then charge diagnostics to fault the part and obviously fitting.

i think sere is about £106

Cheers mate, I know not to go back to the garage now anyway as they said because of my aftermarket speakers they pissed around fixing my door seals for 2 days and charged me like £210 and didn't even do a proper job and unseated one of my tweeters in the process!!! the VW garage in ST.Helens if anyone's wondering...Andy's sh*t garage or something... they even put a sticker in my back window! Closest I've come to murder.

csd19, you've just presented an argument that they are different, as "the outside of the car" is a different direction for driver and passenger. You'd have to fit it upside-down on the driver's side compared to the passenger side, and that should be immediately obvious as the writing will be upside down . . .

Ring seat and ask for part numbers, the arrow has to point to outside of car, so one side will be the other way up to the other.

Okay so I didn't word it properly last night, sensor is the same just mounted upside down.

Just gone and got this pic of the driver's side one:

Obviously the arrow indicating the outside of the car has moved from the bottom to the top of the sensor, and the label is on the bottom as opposed to the top on the passenger side. Top of the driver's side sensor is blank. :)
