Went over a humpback bridge yesterday, landed a bit hard, and BANG, sump gone.

How difficult is the sump to replace on a V5?

Is the v5 Sump from a golf / bora compatible with the toledo?

I dont know how hard it is to replace but any AGZ engined model (golf/passat etc) should be compatible.
Theres a sump on ebay currently i was bidding but stopped at £70 as i have more urgent needs (gearbox lol)

Yeah I noticed the one on eBay... that's actually what prompted me to ask! I have noticed that the drain plug is in a different position on my engine, looking at that sump, it would put the drain plug at the front of the engine, but mine is at the side??

I might phone round a few indy mechanics today to get an idea if it is def. compatible, and will post back results.

My local Seat dealer wants £127 +Vat for a new sump, so that gives me some lea-way on the bidding... (most ppl get 3 points and £60 fine for speeding, I was under the limit and caused £250 of damage to the car.... FFS!!)
