Im gonna order my Dumpvalve today. Is the best one for the ibiza cupra r the 007 forge DV?

Is it just the 007 bit that I need or do I need any xtra bits with it?

Also, do you lot reckon it makes a difference on what type of fuel you run the Beezer on?

E.g 95 Unleaded or Optimax?

I know these sound dumb questions but Ive only had the car a week & I wanna make sure I do the right thing!

Cheers fellas!;)

007 is a good DV, as is the eliminator

awesome gti have the 007 on offer at the mo i think

badger 5 sells them also as do many in our discounts section

you car has an adaptive ECU so in time it will perform better on a decent fuel like optimax or super, try them for a few tanks and see if you notice a difference

Alright cheers

Im just paranoid now. I was chatting on here yesterday about my time at santapod. It was my first time down there in my car & my best was 17.004 in my standard Ibiza Cupra R.

Compared to other standard Ibizas which were getting mid 15's.

Driving it last night I dont think im getting much kick from the turbo in 2nd & 3rd gears.:(

If it wasnt performing right would I be getting any error codes?

I cant see any error codes appearing so im guessing its ok?

Im just worried now that its not performing right.

Any suggestions?

Sounds like mine when I first had it, one min it was boosting fine, the next it was flat - no lights on the dash though.

Have you got a boost guage to check the boost? Know anyone with vagcom? Could be a maf failure.

No no boost gauge on it. Ive got battery gauges, Oil temp gauges, Temp gauges etc but no boost gauge.

It just doesnt feel like the turbo is working on 2nd & 3rd. 1st is fine it kicks in properly but change to 2nd & it seems flat.

Im gonna run it on Optimax from now & see if that helps. Ive just ordered my Forge 007 DV & im sorting out a Dynatwist Induction Kit this week too.

Vagcom? Tell me more about this! Im new to Seat Ibizas so im trying to learn more about it. I dont know anyone who has one of these. None of my mates have turbo'd cars so I cant ask them.

Did you have these problems too then? How can I tell if the MAF is failing?

Yep, was the first problem that I suffered and is very very common. Iy you havent got a guage or a copy of vagcom then try unpluggin the MAF and driving the car, if it runs better then its a positive sign that the MAF is shot.

New MAF is around £60 but they will want your old one back. You really need to find someone with the vagcom software and get them to log the MAF output to tell wether its causing problems

You'll be getting low air flow readings from the MAF, which you'd find by connecting Vag-Com to your car.

Vag-Com is a program that allows you to read such values as the airflow, and read and clear any fault codes that the car may generate.

Ninja is from the Reading area i believe, he may have vagcom.

I'd stick a boost gauge on order if i was you mate, to see what the cars boosting too.

It could be a split or loose pipe thats allowing the boost to escape, or even a damaged intercooler.

Where di you get your boost gauge from? How much that cost you?

Are the Samcos a good investment too? Im thinking of replacing my hoses to sillocones.

So basically I need either

a.) a boost gauge to see how much boost Im getting so I can tell if its not running right.

B.) Someone who has Vagcom software who can measure the airflow etc to see if im loosing owt?

I dont even know if the car is loosing anything. It drives fine but just seems flat in 2nd & 3rd.

Its just got me well paranoid since I ran a 17 sec 1/4 mile :(

With everything your saying sounds like something aint right.

Can get a boost guage from anywhere, www.apexperformance.co.uk stocks autometer guages. Think about the future of your car, are you planning a remap etc. Pointless buying a 15psi guage if the car will be pushing 20psi after a remap.

Same applies to the samcos, are you planning on buying a FMIC later on? If so the standard hoses will be fine for now, if undamaged. The FMIC kits use different hoses, so spending money on hoses your going to replace is pointless.

Well Ive ordered my DV which is a start & should have the induction kit ordered by end of week.

I plan on modding the engine more but dont want stupid power on FWD.

I want to get a revo remap done, FMIC & poss a Turbo upgrade. I was thinking that it was best to upgrade the hoses before any big mods as Ive heard normal hoses struggle with pressure.

All of these things will be done 1 at a time as Ive not got money to burn.

If I was to take it to a Seat Dealer is there anything they could do for the car in terms of checking for lost power?

Im gonna have a check tonight & see if I can find. The more I ask the more it seems its the car & not me.

Bit gutted if it is seeing as Ive only just got the car. Does this sound like a common fault then?

All cars have their quirks, vagcom + the cable is a good investment!

Hoses do come off, and split, and the Maf's do fail, as do the coilpacks.

I'f they've split i'd suggest forge silicone replacements, but if your going to get a Forge FMIC in the very near future, dont both getting the silicone set, and see if someone has a replacement of the stock one until the FMIC is fitted and the pipes replaced.

PMSL, you could get a USB or serial port extension cable!

Il check my hoeses tonight then. How can I tell if the MAF is failed with out the VAGCOM etc. ?

My money is well tight at the mo to be buying anything else. Im only gerttin the induction kit sorted cos Ive managed to get vouchers from my work to pay for it.

ANything else that needs paying for is gonna have to wait till end of month.

Can I expect it to run better once the Dynatwist is fitted?
