description of your dv noise sounds about right
using a CAI type induction kit will enhance the noise but not necessarily make it louder, i use a green panel filter and its plenty loud enough

BMC makes the valve quite a bit louder and you get a nice induction sucking noise.

Yes BMC is a good filter to get, expensive though at around £190.

Lacquer im afraid isn't covered under warranty, lots of people have tried and failed. It is a common problem.

I Have The Bmc-Cda Fitted To My Lcr. Expensive But Worth It!! Also The Dv You Have Is Not An Atmospheric So You Wont Hear The Noise Of A Subaru. The Noise Yours Makes Sounds About Right. And I Tried With The Peeling Laquer On The Brembos, And Got Nowhere!!!!! But The Thing Is You Dont See The Likes Of Evos With The Laquer Peeling On Their Brembos!!!

Yes you do! ;)

In fact, somebody posted a link to an Evo forum a little while ago that had a step-by-step guide to refurbishing your Brembos as it seems to be a common problem for them as well.

Oh yes..........

looked at an evo 18 months old before buying the LCR. The Brembo's on there were mega tatty, pink and lacquer-less.

It had only done about 14k!!!!
