Couple of Q's

Hi all,

Got a couple of quick questions for you!

First off, i took my Seat Sat Nav head unit out the other day and ran an alpine unit for a few days to test an audio system out. I have since replaced the sat nav head unit, but noticed i haven't actually got the code for it! (Have only owned the car around a month..)

Previous owner doesn't have a record of it, and it's not in the back of the manual for the head unit (the little card you're supposed to fill in hasn't been filled in..)

Seat said they would need to reset the code for me, which would cost me £11.75.

Just wondering if there's anyone on here that can do it?


Also, whilst installing a power cable from the engine bay to the boot, i had to take the glove box off. This meant disconnecting the airbag switch. I had to drive the car around whilst this was disconnected, and although everything is back together now, the warning light still remains.

I've searched on here and understand that i need to get it connected to VAG Com to clear the error, is there anyone near to Loughborough/Leicester that could do this for me?

£11.75 is a good price... Other dealers charge up to £40....

Yeah i'd bite there hand off for that price

But saying that there maybe a way of doing it more an liekly be liked to the units serial number in some way

SEAT in Scotland, well Aberdeen anyway, do it for free. Just drive up, they take the radio serial number, fax it off and 10 minutes later the code is faxed back.

Thats a very good price, we used to charge (1/2 hr labour) around £45.00 to do that job when i worked at a stealers.
