When i first got the car everytime i turned it off the water pump would stay running for about 5 - 10 mins. Well over the past few months it very rarely kicks in when i turn it off. I have checked the fuse and it is fine, Just had new water pump and belts and still does not come on. Any Ideas?

is there a bit of confusion here? the thing your hearing is the secondary water pump (cylinder thing near the drivers side head lamp)
your water pump and timing belt you had change is different and i would have thought they are fine and its your secondary one that needs looking at

mines playing up now, coming on and off a lot. is it a big problem if this goes? everytime i take my car out, no matter how long or short the journey, i always let it run for at least 30 seconds after i've parked up...

ave you check the fuse on the battery the three there cuz mine had days when it would come on and off take them out give them a clean see if it makes any difference. I had to replace the whole thing though.

Yeh i know the secondary and normal water pump are 2 different parts. lol. I was just building up the picture for you. Yeh the fuse is fine. Quick question tho, the pump is about £100 from seat, but carnt you get it direct from a bosch dealer for around £20????
