hi all,

i have a 1.9TDI FR and comin up to my last service.
if it wasnt for my mate i wouldnt of noticed but i have condensation in the front fog lights (both sides) so i rang the dealer up to add it to the list of things to look at.

they said aload of crap as usual and told me to pop in so they could have a look!

well when i got there is was met with a digital camara! they took a photo of each fog light and are e-mailing it to head office... i asked y and all he had to say was they needed permission to fix/look at the lights... [:@]
what can any1 tell from looking at two pics of fog lights with water running down the glass?!

i just dont understand!! any one else had this trouble?!

If you do a search you will see it is a very common problem in Leons. I have it and decided not to get it fixed. As people say a quick blast of the lights is all it takes to clear it.

It is basically where the Leon lights are not sealed properly - a lot of peple have this problem and most like me just live with it.

As said its a common problem. Fogs and the headlights!

The dealer i took my car to weren't to interested, said that all complaint were getting forwarded to head office or something and they would be in touch if they ever got recalled...

Yeah right as if...

its a common problem, some people will seal it themselves and others will live with it.

the fog lights i wouldnt worry about as there only used when foggy.

as for the headlights you can seal the enclosure better yourself or you can drill a small airhole in the rear of the lamp which is supposed to help stop the condesation build up.

mine did the same, so i phoned barlows and they did the same "requested a photo" but at the time of taking the picture (both we'r heavily condensated - if thats a word) only the drivers side was still mucky. so they only changed that, even though the other one was as bad..

I know people who have gone through about 4 different repairs - whether it be replacing them, resealing etc. etc. It never properly fixed them.

That said, my Leon is far better in terms of condensation than by old Ibiza for condensation - I've just learned to live with it.
