Thinking of disconnecting battery for a bit and letting car reset. What effect will this have, how will it affect other bits, like REVO?

Mike

mate don't worry, it wont delete revo, it will just mean you have to reset clocks etc and stereo settings.

Cool, not bothered about other stuff and tbh I didn't think it would effect REVO, but best to check these things.

If it still plays up it'll head to the Dealers under Warranty.

The other thing that worries me is....how the hell did it get to 58ºC ?

Mike

PS Flash, do you have a Forge?

Its the temp sensor in the engine bay that causes it, also if its like the 1.4 if it stays at 58 then the car think's it's cold, which then turns on auto choke, which inturn throws more fuel into the engine.

really???!

i was told that the temp sensor for the temp displayed in the top left of your screen was on the underside of your passenger mirror?! mind you that was by a Seat dealership. and half of them dont know their eass from their elbow

It's in teh wing mirror

your car has lambda probes to tell if it's warm or cold startup.

Its the litte black button/pip thing on the bottom of the passenger wingmirror! Just bought one for mine (part number 6k0919379- price 20.12 plus the vat)

Easiest way to fit it is pop the glass out cut the wires on the old and new one and solder the new one to the old wires left poking out of the door(then shrink/heat wrap) It saves taking your door card off! :funk:

Im gonna be taking me door card off anyway (speaker change) so im gonna change the whole thing! :D

Good luck

yeh that's what i thought

just never bothered to change it. i cant see that knowing the temperature outside the car is worth £25..... just as well stick me head out the window! :p

i think it'll be because it compares the ambient outside temp to what it blows out, knows that it's wrong, so can't attain the temperature (it knows it not 58C outside) so doesn't work properly

weird

my temp sensor has always read 58 but my air con works fine :)

i know this cos i've had many long and short journeys on hot summer days and i've been lovely and cool inside my little beeza :)
