As proposed by Redemption, based on my post, the forum is a great place to look for common issues with the MK2 in order to provide our service garages with an extra little checklist.
May be handy to, perhaps post-discussion, post the issue in here with links to threads with resolutions.

Water getting into the engine bay via the scuttle and making the bonnet lining sag and go mouldy.

Disconnecting rear washer tube.

The tube from the washer bottle to the sprays can disconnect in the engine bay (from the bottle) or in the boot lining on the driver side.

Can leak into interior.

Alarm going off for no apparent reason sometimes also showing the drivers door being open on the MFD when it's actually shut.

Faulty drivers Door Control Module is often the culprit. Can be expensive if outside the warranty period.

Leon FR PD170 injector issues

Just a trend I've seen on the forum on the PD170s. Injectors seem to go with decently high repair costs.

He norm seems to be a litre every 1.5k or so. With exceptions

Chocolate coilpacks, sorry no link but worth checkin you have the Revised coilpacks when in for a service

Symptoms of duff coilpack: Missfire, poor mpg, loss of power

Are you still covered by warranty? I not how much was the scuttle fix

Still under warrant Mike so was done FOC some folk have quoted around £40 for the fix it's just a bit of sticky back foam a la blue peter

From what iv read and experienced the dogbone mount is weak and a common problem. A polybushed upgrade can be purchased from awesome-gti under THS3 torque mounts £68 delivered.

Update on this. It is now a recognised issue. Seat should replace ALL FOUR injectors and the wiring loom FOC even if out of warranty.

I don't know if this is of any help, but tomorrow SEAT are replacing the O/S Shock bearing mount under warranty, after I complained of a squeaking from the suspension.

Also tomorrow my bonnet soundproofing is being done after the dealer said it couldn't be done through warranty, I showed him the TPI number off this thread and now he is more than happy to replace it under warranty
