easy id say, i do bodywork and you can get decent paint from halfords. go into there with your paint code and get a spray can of it made up.
You'll need from a motorfactors or body shop:
some high grade sand paper 240 grade
masking tape
brown masking paper or lots of newspaper
white spirit
plastic primer (white)
tack cloth
wetflatting paper (wet or dry its called) 240 or 600 grade
stockingette
and of course the paint

rub them down on or off the car (off will need no masking tape or paper) off preferably as then you wont worry about getting it on the car, with high grade sand paper
wipe them down with the white spirit to clean them on the stockingette(wait until it evaporates)
then spray some plastic primer on ( nice thin even coats, wait until dry before adding additional coats)

get some water and lightly sand the primer with the wet flatting paper, only until they are smooth, making sure there is still primer on the strips
dry them off
using a little white spirit on stockingette try a small area to see if the white spirit takes off the primer(it shouldnt) if it doesnt then wipe the strips. If not then dont worry.
Once clean and dry, rub over the strips with the tack cloth then paint. Again thin even coats.

Leave to cure for about 3 hours then fit

If you didnt already know lol!!!

the ones on the doors if your on about, "should" be easy as pie, just be careful what you use to take them off so you dont scratch the paint work.

Ive got quotes for the black bits on the bottom of the bumpers to be painted and i was quoted £150 just for small areas on the bumpers its crazy, i would do it myself but i doubt i would get the finish i want as we dont work in a spray booth

Good luck with it mate.

Just to be aware Azalia red is 3 stage paint
Primer
Coloured base coat
Azalea Colour (very thin and transparent)
Lacquer

My body shop had a nightmare painting mine
It also fades quite badly and is prone to stone chips as the paint is so soft
It does look good when polished up though

yes i hear it is a tricky colour. Im going off the idea of DIY! Might be worth paying for someone who knows what they are doing. Any ideas how much i would be looking at? Its front back and sides.

I think i'll get a couple of quotes first.

I've had the front strips off a couple of times to remove the front bumper and whack some angel eyes in, and a thin bladed flat screwdriver with some electrical tape wrapped round worked pretty well to prise them off.

No halfords in Jersey, so might be a bit of a trawl getting the list together!

For £100 it's well worth it, as it will freshen up the car a fair bit. One of those subtle mods that make a big difference overall, without being obvious :)

I've had a quote of £200-£250 to have it done at a bodyshop I've used before, which I thought was a little on the steep side, compared to what they've done before.

Gonna get another quote from someone my bro-in-law knows. Fingers crossed......

£200 is extorsion to be fair!! i thought £150 was alot just to colour code the black bits on the bottom of the bumpers!

So im going to do it myself this week if my paint arrives. The boss is on holiday so i have access to the compressor, air lines and the spray gun including all materials. I just hop the paint arrives before he comes back off holiday

I personally think that the black bits on the bumpers change the look of the MY01 bumpers a hell of a lot, iive seen a few about that look alot better than the black bits

I might paint the bump strips but at the moment i want to break the colour up a little and leave em there to see what it looks like, i can always take em off at any stage to paint them as they arent difficult to take off like the bumpers are!!!
