Got up for work yesterday.

Started the car up - waited for the coil symbol to go out first - Car is prefacelift TDi 130 sport. Temperature was about -6

Went about scraping the ice and snow off the car.

drove off and because of the snow and ice I was changing gear very low in the rev range. As I got on to a main road and sped up a little more I noticed there was no boost.... then the engine management light came on.

I drove home again and worked from home. Started the car again in the afternoon and took her out for a test drive. The boost was back but the engine management light was still on.

2 questions. first.... what could have caused the no boost - It must be temperature related.
secondly how do I get the engine management light turned off? I'm guessing VAG Com but would like to confirm.

cheers

Not sure about the loss of boost but if you start the car more than six times (i think it is six) and the fault is not showing any more - the fault light will go out.

Make sure the key comes completely out of the ignition between starts.

I will give that a go and see if it clears.

I'm not 100% on this (sure someone will confirm) but depending on the fault, the car will go into limp mode, and you'll get no boost.

So rather than the light being on because of no boost, you have no boost because the light has come on.

The fault has cleared..... there is plenty of boost available now too... I'm guessing there was a frozen sensor that was stopping it from boosting.

Cheers for the comments and advice :)
