coil spring advice needed!

iv just lowered my mk 2 ibiza git cup sport by 40mm all round and have put the new coil springs bk on the old schocks. but when i went out for a ride last the ride was soft and bouncy.
will it be down to the old schocks or will i have to up grade them.
and when i was puting the new coil spring back on ther was a hand full of ball bearing on the work shop floor will they have some how come out off the strut or is it all in my haed lol.

Put springs on mine but it didnt make it soft and bouncy? Mayb the struts have gone. Do bounce test. Push down on the car and see how long it takes to settle back at normal ride hight. And the bearings wont be from the strut. More than likely the top mount.

u were right mate it was the top mount got one to day and put it on like new thanks all
