I was told the lubricant spray is only there for future use, its adviced to put it on every now and then to prevent the large round disc type things which unscrew from seizing.
I measured my coil overs when i first put them on to ensure they're lowered the same...the back was 55mm from the bottom thread, and the front was 45mm - i think!!
Those steel hook type things are used to adjust the height, when the coil over isn't on the car you should be able to adjust the height of the coil by hand, but when its under load, you'll need both those hook tpye spanners which lock into the cut out grooves to adjust the height.

Since then, i have messed with it some more and lowered it a little more, I can't really go no lower now as i can't get off the drive
