hi guys i have a fault code keeps comming up on my 2001 cupra the only mods are a magnex full exuast and sports cat i have tried to check for leaks carnt seem to find anything wrong appart from some one have removed the standard dump valve and put it back on the the old damaged clip it does not seem to lose any power the light on the dash only comes on on long runs i have a faulty temp sensor code 17704 i have orderd a new green sensor but has not arrived yet is this car safe to keep driving how can i pressure test for leaks any help and advice would be great cheers anthony

Your original Bosch plastic diaphragm type DV is probably fecked. Do you hear a chattering noise when you lift off the throttle? Either that or its not sealing properly with the damaged clip.

not sure aout a chattering will it be noticable my exauste has a bit or a rasp on the over run i removed my air filter to listen to dump valve and all i could hear was a woosh when i lifted off i am new to this kind of car i have read through loads of posts with this fault most seem to be dump valve or leaking pipes
