Clutch Slip?

Sorry for such a silly question, but I have a remapped FR TDi with a standard clutch. It has about 4,000 miles on the clock.
What are the signs of clutch slip? Been hearing that the standard clutch is not up to much, and although I may be imagining it, I feel the power not coming in as punchily as it did originally about the time i release the clutch. Does this tend to happen in the lower gears or all? What are the signs?
Sorry to be so dense.

Main sign is putting your footdown, revs rise but no significant increase in speed, the revs will then drop and gradually the clutch will get grip and away you go.

Hopefully that is a good description :think:

Yeah I notice it only slightly but if I drive the car properly it isn't an issue.

Booting it from 2k revs in 6th up a hill for example will encourage it, but when driving in the proper gears in the proper rev ranges and my clutch grips perfectly well :)

You can recognise it from the Rev needle jumping up and the car not going anywhere, then the needle dropping back down and the car catching up - just like when you lose traction and wheelspin

Sounds a bit familiar. :(
Is this likely on 4,000 miles and NOT driving the car like a nutter?

Sarah from here used to work at Skoda and had one customer who's clutch was gone after only 1,500 miles. It came down to the customer ever so slightly riding the clutch all the time by resting her foot on the clutch pedal - was just enough to start to disengage the clutch and ripped right through it. Now i'm not saying that that is what your doing, but it can happen. If its only on that kind of mileage you shouldnt really have any trouble getting it all sorted through the dealers.
