Hello,

I have a dodgy left leg - my knee tends to dislocate.

Recently I have been having a fair amount of trouble with it after I have been standing for a while.

And also my knee every now and then tends to dislocate when I dip my clutch.

Is there anyway of making it any lighter??? As I know these cars tend to have quite heavy clutch's anyway.

Just a query.

I read in other topics that some WD40 works, others got a new clutch cable and I think someone re-routed his as it was catching/rubbing on something?

well im just after replacing the clutch and clutch pedal box, its still heavy! but before they were replaced i tryed WD40 and it made a small difference. Get in underneath and spray everything you see :D

Might sound stupid but have you thought about selling it and getting an automatic car, I'd say your knee should take 1st priority not the Ibiza.

Where's the fun in driving an auto?? lol

It's only recently that it's been doing it - might try pyhsio again.. I love my car really wouldn't want to get rid of it. I know health comes first.

Just exploring other options.

change the clutch cable. i just done mine now as the pedal kept sticking to the floor when i pushed it down :( lol. Now its sooooo much lighter its like driving a new car. I picked the cable up for 20 pounds delivered off ebay and fitted it with a hand in a splint and one hand free in 30 minutes :D
Cant be bad

Well I know when it's going to happen so can normally stop it.

It's just when I change gear.

And I leave enough room from the car infront so if anything did happen i wouldnt hit them anyway.

Why dont you just sit with the seat as forward as possible. That way you dont push your leg forward enough for it to lock. Mind you'll look like a pensioner lol

what about looking into a corrado hydraulich clutch set up. The 1.8 16v variety came with these boxes (possibly 2.0 16v as well).

Its a big thing to do but would give you a nicer clutch and better for your leg. A mate is doing this in his mk2 golf but he has used the engine, box loom and everything.

Might be worth exploring, might not, an idea if nothing else.

*They do use a rod box unfortunately so there is where your problem lies.*
