i have read the sticky before anyone shouts at me
and yes the plastic clip has broken

the question i need answering is
the garage have said that the reason for the breaking is that the clutch is heavy ??
and i need a new clutch

what does he mean ??

the car has done 120,000 - 60.000 since i have owned it and i have never replaced the clutch so not sure if its still the orginal one

cheers phil

I broke the back off the welded box on the pedal where the plastic clip fits into, went for a gear change and ended up with bits of metal and plastic all over the floor lol. There was no indication it might give out, no creaking etc, just boom!

New clutch pedal with white plastic clip and new brake switch cover was about £25 from the stealers - sorted :)
