it is remapped...... and has slipped a couple of times but nothing massive, just a little tiny vibration when accellerating....a mean it has just started to do it within the past 2 weeks..... could be moisture as it only seems to be on a morning. and of the car has been left about 5-6 hours... worse on a morning

I the clutch has been slipping, id say possibly they tangential springs may have been weak, but then that would cause gear selection problems.
Are you really sure its judder? and not just the engine being cold? The dmf should take out most vibration etc from the engine so you shouldnt feel anything through the pedal at all.

If its been slipping, that is obviously causing heat in the clutch, could maybe be the clutch becoming weak, but like i said before, that would also cause gear selection problems.

Personally i have never heard about moisture getting in the bell housing as its a sealed unit, yes the clutch does generate heat when slipped but causing condensation  are you sure?

It's due to ambient temperature changes overnight Dan, the Tdi lot were banging on about it a bit back. They reckon that temperature difference between the inside and the outside of the bellhousing can cause condensation which gets onto the clutch plate which can cause juddering when the car has been stood overnight after a run.

My Passat does exactly the same - it's usually when pulling away for the first time of a morning, usually during the colder months.

I did wonder if it might have been oil leaking onto the clutch when left at a standstill, which then got burnt off after a bit of driving, but the condensation issue could well be it. Hope so anyway !
