Right....i have searched for this problem and whilst there does seem to be some cures there does not seem to be a definitive cure. Basically, my clutch pedal is sticking really badly. When i depress the clutch it comes up slowly and then feels really springy towards the top. Sometimes it just stays on the floor and i have to put my foot behind it and pop it back up. It is especially bad in reverse. Last night while reversing up my drive way it got STUCK in reverse and the gear stick would not come out of reverse and the clutch would not come up either. So i had to let the car stall to get it out of gear. Its really starting to piss me off!:censored:

Cures ive found so far are the clutch pedal sensor, seems to be ok, faulty gear linkage.

Any ideas as i am losing my mind and driving is no longer enjoyable![:@]

had a good look around the forum and could be the master cylinder or slacve cylinder. It does it mostly in first gear, when i depress to go into forst it goes down fine then sticks coming back up about half way and have to pop it back up with the top of my foot. Its doinf it about 8-9 times per jounrey now and getting very anoying!

Think my best bet is to take it to my local VW/Audi specialist? Dont want to spend alot though but need to get it sorted as i dont want ti messing up the gear box or nakkering the clucth up!

PLEASE HELP!

I think it would be more along the Master Cylinder mark
But then I have seen cars that require both
So maybe worth getting someone to check it over for you

update....the warning light for break fluid has come on twice in the last two days. It is sticking almost everytime in 1st gear and reverse is a joke, clunks in and gets totally stuck... have to make the car stall itself to get it out of gear. It has been abit better since i topped up the break fluid. Is the break fluid and clutch fluid related? Thinking it could be either the master or slave clutch cylinder....any ideas?

Car now fixed! Took it to my VAG specialist and all it was was a loose nipple of the clutch slave cylinder! mAll they did was bleed the clutch, refil with fluid and do the nipple up nice and tight. Only cost 30mins labour = 38squid! So happy it driving fine now!

Glad you managed to get sorted
Yes brake fluid and clutch fluid are related
As you have found out
Fingers crossed you wont get that again
Just one thing though , I thought the slave cylinder was in the gearbox  but could be wrong

You are probably right.... must have been the master cylinder. Im just glad and it was a cheap easy fix. Also id reccommend the garage i went to. They really could have pulled my pants down over the price but they were honest! And everyone knows how hard it is to find a honest garage that dont rip you off.
