Had a problem with getting the car into reverse and 1st when the engines hot, when cold it finds them fine.

Had the master anjd slave cylinder replaced and greased the linkages which has made the box alot smoother but am still getting problems when its hot.

Is it possible that the clutch cable has stretched or is doing when its hot? Is there anything anyone else can recommend?

Cheers :)

If its a Cupra they don't have clutch cables as its hydraulic clutch, just uses master and slave which you had replaced.

Its only the selector mechanism that uses cables to connect gearlever to box, just try checking that they operate freely when engines hot, check if you still have problems selecting them when the engine is hot but turned off (still depress clutch). If your selector cables are free and you can selsect the gear easily with engine off but hot, then i'd suggest that your clutch maybe getting warn and starting to drag.

Have you noticed it even slighty when selecting any other gears?

Its doing it in 1st, 2nd and reverse.

It was at the garage yesterday and they flushed the system, worked fine for about 10miles, not as bad as it was tho.

The clutch also feels really spongy and biting point seems to be a tad high.

Think i'll be getting it in for a new clutch next week if the wallet allows, will try some of the above and let you know the results.

Cheers

Its easier to select the gears but i had alot of trouble getting it into reverse with the engine off and clutch pressed? Any ideas?
