clutch fluid

Supid question... where do I top it up?
Does the clutch use the same resevoir as the brakes?

The car is a 2001 Leon 1.8T sport

Either the master cylinder or the slave is on the way out, or at least I guess there is a leak (pedal getting longer... but recovers a bit after pumping), but I need to keep it going until I can have it looked at, at the weekend (travelling a long way to work at the mo.

This is the 2nd time this has happened! Is it a common fault?
Mind you, I had the clutch pedal break (another common fault) whilst towing my race car to Spa (happened at the Dartford tunnel). I still managed to get all the way there (including a ferry crossing) without a clutch pedal... So I'm practiced at NOT having a clutch!

I love the car, but I have had some many problems with it in the 24 months of ownership (bought it with 40k miles)...
Master Cylinder leak
Front ARB bushes needed replacing
2 new CV joints (at the same time)
Clucth pedal
Indicators packed up.
Driverside window broke and fell open (on the M25, in January... -4 degrees)

is it common to have so many problems?

hmmm.... the level hasn't gone down in the resevoir... yet my clutch pedal is on the floor... hardly coming up at all despite pumping the pedal... getting very tricky to drive... need to get the car into the garage quicker...

But thank you for your reply. At least I'm not blind (couldn't find another resevoir). :)

You say you've had the clutch pedal break: I assume this means the usual weld-on-the-side-failing-and-letting-the-master-cylinder-rod-snap-back failure. This usually snookers the master cylinder seals - In my case I found fluid leaking down inside the car from the pushrod seal. I'd look at your master cylinder first . . .

I had the plastic clip go (I beleive that this is a common failure on all VAG cars).

The Master Cylinder was replaced about 3 months ago too.

Anyway, the car is at the garage now to be fixed. They're a really good independent garage which I have started using very recently. I did the 134 mile round trip yesterday without a clutch pedal which was... erm... interesting. But managed to borrow a car for the rest of the week.

Oh I forgot to add the MAF sensor in my list of failures so far...
