Hi,

Whilst stuck in lots of traffic, by bite point was getting lower and lower, until almost at the floor.

Bite point is usually quite high.

So what is the problem?

Hydraulic resevoir level looks fine, breaks work fine.

Not sure what can be done, other than take to garage, but fear they'll replace lots of parts and cost loads...

Any help?

I had something similar a few months back - the clutch biting point was really low when the car was cold, then as it warmed up it came back to normal.

Unfortunately mine was due to a knackered thrust bearing, so I had the clutch, flywheel and slave cylinder replaced.

It could be air getting in the system, ie a leak one of of the cylinders ... as long as its the master and not the slave it shouldn't cost too much.
