clunking

Right well for the last few weeks I have noticed a problem with my 1.2. When I go to start the car not very often happend 3 times at most, it wont start and makes a clunking weird noice. I dont think its a major problem just wondering what it might be. Any ideas people?

starter motor ?

maybe somw wires are a bit lose.

spark plugs not sparking maybe ?

i no nothing to be honest just guessing but someone will correct me
